- Certificate of Deposits (CDs) is a negotiable money market instrument issued by scheduled commercialbanks and select all- India Financial Institutions that have been permitted by the RBI to raise short termresources.
- Commercial Paper (CPs) is an unsecured negotiable money market instrument issued in the form of apromissory note, generally issued by the corporates, primary dealers and all India Financial Institutionsas an alternative source of short term borrowings. They are issued at a discount to the face value asmay be determined by the issuer. CP is traded in secondary market and can be freely bought and soldbefore maturity.
- Treasury Bills (T-Bills) are issued by the Government of India to meet their short term borrowingrequirements. T-Bills are issued for maturities of 91 days, and 364 days. T-bills are issued at a discountto their face value and redeemed at par.
